Abstract

Today, Virtual Data Integration is no longer an emerging data integration technology, but an essential product in many data professional's toolbox.  In this session, you will learn how this concept went from early adopters to mainstream.  For business intelligence related use cases, Virtual Data Integration:

- Delivers more of the data you need - allowing for richer reporting

- Gets you the data faster - faster project completion as well as fresher data

- Reduces your overall extracted and replicated data requirement - saving time, cost, and data redundancy

For a service-oriented architecture (SOA), Virtual Data Integration:

- Provides data services - a unique class of Web services that enables data access, aggregation, and delivery capabilities

- Automatically converts numerous source data formats into XML Web services

You will also learn about common reference architectures for virtual data integration and customer case studies.
